St Keyne, named after a 5th century Saint, has a well where newly weds raced to take the water. The first one there would be the dominant in the marriage! On Sunday April 27th there will be a short level stroll along Station Road, Liskeard, stopping regularly to hear about the first occupants of the Victorian terraces that sprang up when the GWR main line station opened in 1859. Padstow ‘Obby ‘Oss
May Day (or ‘Obby ‘Oss Day as it is known outside Padstow) is the biggest day in Padstow’s calendar. It is not unusual to see 30,000 people crammed into the little town. It is a day when Padstonians from all over the world return to their roots.
