Set in present day Tokyo. A lonely Japanese baker hires a 76-year-old woman to be his new assistant at a pancake stall, and soon learns that she has a wonderful recipe for sweet red bean paste – which she claims comes from her communion with nature.
Word spreads and business thrives, but then rumours start about a dark secret in her past….
