The Arts Society Liskeard present a talk on SS Great Britain: From Launch to Re-Launch by Ian Caskie on Tuesday 14 April.
Brunel’s celebrated ship, the first liner with an iron hull and the first driven by a propeller, transformed sea travel forever. Ian tells the story of her build and launch, and then the incredible salvage and restoration more than a century later.
At the Public Hall, West Street, Liskeard, PL14 6BW. Meet at 7pm for coffee/tea/wine and conversation. The talk starts at 7.30pm and ends at about 9pm. FREE for members; for visitors/guests, £6 at the door.
