Picturing the Mines – an Atlas

A Cornish Mining World Heritage Site commission celebrating ‘Tinth’ – the 10th anniversary of the listing of Cornish Mining landscapes as a World Heritage Site.

The dynamic team of artists including Matthew Benington, book conservators PZ Conservation, mining expert Iain Rowe, volunteers, enthusiasts of all things mining and you the public will create a collaborative artwork depicting the mining landscapes of Liskeard and beyond . With Caradon Hill once producing vast reserves of copper the story of boom and bust will be explored on large scale floor map resembling a volcanic explosion of wealth. Come and help the artists and discover ways to picture the mines anew.

A time lapse film will document it exploding and turning to ash.

Bring along any photos, maps or stories if you can.
