Mary Martin Summer Exhibition

An exhibition of Mary Martin paintings at West Brendon, St Dominic. Signed from the church and from Ashton, there will be parking in a field behind the house (involves a short walk downhill so wear suitable footwear). Open 11am to 6 pm every day. Free admission. For more details call 01579 350696.

Mary’s atmospheric paintings continue to capture the beauty of her native Tamar Valley. Working out-of-doors in scintillating light, her vivid paintings are fresh and direct. She paints the light glistening on the river, shimmering across daffodil fields, through bluebell woods, and in orchards laden with ephemeral blossom. On bright mornings in winter, shadows extend across frosty fields with a sheen of ice and dew; in summer, pollen-laden grasses ripple above the sunlit valley. The 85 paintings also include interiors, still-lifes, gardens and seascapes.

Visitors will be welcomed to view the wide range of Mary’s vibrant and colourful works in her latest collection, on special display in the home of her sister and brother-in-law.
