Walk – Liskeard Artisans

As part of Liskeard Unlocked historian Brian Oldham will be leading a walk – ‘Where Liskeard Artisans Honed their Skills in Days Gone By’ around the town centre, stopping to view, and learn about, the premises of the many who earned their living from their own skills set and hear a little of their history.
As a major Market Town, Liskeard was almost self-sufficient in previous centuries. Smiths, Sadlers, Stonemasons, Straw Bonnet Makers, Singers and many more lived and worked in the town centre. Each one can be traced and a piece from their individual history will be shared on the day. Participants can leave the group at any time, we will always be a short distance from the main car park.
Sunday 17th September, 2pm-4pm. The walk will take 2 hours but is only 2 miles in distance, and a gentle circular stroll.
