Johnny Campbell emerged onto the UK folk scene with self-penned material delving deep into Northern English folk song and story.

Following on from the release of True North, an album of field recorded traditional songs of each Northern English county, recorded on, and around the highest points of each county, Johnny Campbell is embarking on a UK tour in November and December 2024.
‘2024 sees Campbell releasing True North, an album of Northern English traditional songs recorded on their respective county summits, garnering press from Country Walking Magazine, Folk on Foot & BBC Radio 4 Open Country.
In February 2024, Johnny Campbell performed a European tour across Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, with half of the shows selling out in advance, as well as a UK tour in March and April, with more sold out shows. Now the festival season is coming to a close, he is following up on the success of True North with a Autumn UK tour, bringing his unique take on original and traditional Northern English material across England and Scotland.
