FREE Beach Explorers and Rockpool Ramble – Looe

July 27 @ 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm

| Free

For National Marine Week there are two FREE events this Saturday 27th July in Looe – Beach Explorers and a Rockpool Ramble.

2.30pm – 4pm. Before we explore the rock pools (starting at 4pm) why not come along and explore the beach at Hannafore? Looe Marine Conservation Group will be running a beach stall to celebrate National Marine Week. We’ll have rocky shore ID guides and activity books available, lots of information on our fascinating seas, a beach art competition and a scavenger hunt – you might even be lucky enough to find an elusive cowrie shell!

4pm – 5.30pm. Delve into gullies, crevices & rockpools to uncover some of the amazing creatures that live in our waters! Learn about starfish, crabs, fish, anemones and lots more at this educational event that is guaranteed to satisfy the whole family. Please come along with suitable footwear (no flip flops), suncream and leave your nets at home as they can harm delicate rockpool creatures. Meet us below the coastguard station on Hannafore Beach.

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. This is a FREE event but donations to Looe Marine Conservation Group are welcome. Please check the Looe Marine Conservation Group website and Facebook page closer to the time of the event for the most up to date information.
