Divertimento String Quartet

10 years ago Divertimento were one of Calstock Arts’ first performers when it opened as an Arts Centre. It’s a pleasure to welcome them back in our 10th anniversary year.
Mary Eade, violin, studied with Yehudi Menuhin and Frederick Grinke before further study in Germany with Wolfgang Marschner, and then in the Royal College of Music. She gave her Wigmore Hall debut in 1975 and has played many concertos notably with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and the London Festival Orchestra.
Lindsay Braga studied the violin at the Royal Northern College. She has worked with many orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, English National Ballet.
Andrew Gillett’s , viola, early studies were with Colin Sauer and Keith Lovell of the Dartington String Quartet. He went on to study at the Royal College of Music and in Frankfurt.
Vicky Evans began her cello studies at the Royal College of Music & at The Central Tutorial School for Young Musicians in London (the predecessor of the Purcell School). She continued her musical training at Dartington with Michael Evans, cellist of the Dartington String Quartet.

Mozart’s Quartet in D, K 421
Anton Webern’s 6 Bagatelles (of which the composer said they are “not much in quantity, but much in content”).
Beethoven, String Quartet in F,Op 59 No 1.
