Wassailers on their annual procession each winter solstice at Cotehele, Cornwall. Wassailing is a Medieval Yuletide English drinking ritual intended to ensure a good cider apple harvest the following year.
It’s nearly that time of year again!
On the Winter Solstice, Saturday 21 December, we are celebrating our annual Wassail at Cotehele.
Come and join us as we scare away the evil spirits from the orchard to ensure a bumper crop next year.
Meet outside reception at 11am, before we process to the orchards.
Fancy dress and musical instruments are highly encouraged!
