Cornish Crosses – Understanding the Evidence

In Cornwall there are over 600 medieval stone crosses and fragments from the late ninth century through to the Reformation.
This course will introduce these iconic and rustic monuments. Their age, original function, decoration and context will be explored, along with their geographic and decorative groups. The course will identify the many types of Cornish crosses including churchyard, wayside and boundary crosses together with their related sculpture.
Held over 7 sessions from 1st February to 29th March (no sessions 15th February or 22nd March) at Liskerrett Community Centre, 7-9pm. Cost £52.
