Community Clear Up Day
March 21, 2015 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Event Navigation
National Community Clear Up Day is on Saturday 21 March this year, when
community groups from all over Liskeard will be turning out to make a day of it.
We want to see Liskeard town centre doing its bit and shining as well, so can you all
help get us ready for the new season?
Leon Fisher, Chair of the Liskeard Traders Association says ‘Our Easter
Saturday events looks like being busier and better than ever. Let’s take this
opportunity to spruce up our shops to look our best!’
Jane Pascoe, Secretary of the Liskeard Chamber of Commerce agrees. ‘It’s
been a long, hard winter, and Easter is our first chance to show residents and
visitors just what we have to offer.’
A busy Saturday is not the best time for traders to get distracted by a clean-up day,
so why not kick start your effort during Clean Cornwall Week that starts on 14 March
when the entire county will be buzzing with a range of community groups litter
picking, bagging and binning.
You won’t be alone. All over Liskeard, people will be mucking in. Liskeard
Community Unity, the residents group set up by Becky Allen, will be out in force
across the town. Liskeard School & Community College students will be litter picking
across their campus and playing fields.
So as a busy trader, what can you do to play your part? You could:
- Wash down the paintwork outside your shop
- Deadhead any plants and shrubs you have around the premises
- Touch up the paintwork on your doors and window frames
Then get out your smartphone, send us a picture of you in your best action-cleaning
pose and we’ll publish them on the YourLiskeard website.
