Beating the Bounds #2 – Minions

April 28 @ 11:00 am

We’re kick-starting the Folk on the Edge project with a series of free walks across this end of Cornwall. Join us as we explore the unique landscapes of the Cornish Borderlands and begin to unlock some of the folklore hidden within them. Each walk will be guided and will vary in length and difficulty.

Beating the Bounds is a traditional custom where, once a year, communities walked the boundary of their parish. Creating and maintaining a shared mental map of home.
For the second walk we’re heading to the moor. Sunday 28th April, 11am.
Staring at the Minions car park, we’ll walk across the moor via the hurlers standing stones. To Daniel Gumb’s Tomb then up to the Cheesewring and Stowe hill before heading out to Henwood and returning through the trees to the moor and mine workings.

We can then head to the Crow’s Nest for a debrief.
The walk will be led by poet and historian Mark Camp.
We encourage participants to come with cameras to document the trip, and stories to share but ask you to leave dogs at home.
If you want to know more about the walks difficulty level, get in touch.
