37 Plays
This year, the RSC is launching a national playwrighting project called 37 Plays. In collaboration with their Associate Regional Theatres (of which the Hall for Cornwall is one), 37 Plays is a call to get the nation writing in order to create an ambitious volume of contemporary dramatic works which respond to the world in which we live. The invitation to write a play will open for submissions in January 2023 with the final collection of 37 plays being shared in 2023 to mark the First Folio anniversary.
As part of the RSC’s search for 37 State of the Nation plays (https://37plays.co.uk/), the Hall for Cornwall and The Writers’ Block are running a series of workshops led by some of Cornwall’s finest playwrights and theatre makers to support emerging writers or anyone interested in submitting a play. All the workshops will take place from August to December 2022 at the Pydar Pop Up in Truro and the Liskerrett Centre in Liskeard.
The Workshops are FREE but booking is essential.
