Join walk leader Iain Rowe for a child friendly industrial archaeology walk on Saturday 26th April, 9.30am – 11.30am meet at the A38 underpass at the foot of Old Road, Liskeard. Find out more »Beating the Bounds – Liskeard
Beating the Bounds is an ancient custom where members of the community walk around the town, usually led by the Mayor and Town Councillors, to familiarise themselves with the town boundaries and ensure that the Boundary Stones had not been moved. The walk is around 11 miles and all are welcome. In the Royal Charter of 1587 by Queen Elizabeth I, the bounds of the Borough, which continued to the present century, were fixed.
