Christmas In Liskeard 2024
The lights are switched on and it’s definitely beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in Liskeard. Here’s a round up of all the lovely festive events in town in the run up to the big day itself.
Christmas Fair
November 27th-December 21st, 9.30 am-3.30 pm (closes 12.30 pm on Saturdays, closed Wednesday and Sunday) at Stuart House
The Christmas Fair is open until 21st December! Lots of wonderful handcrafted items for sale so come and have a browse. Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays 9.30am-3.30pm and Saturdays until 12.30pm.
Christmas at the Museum
November 30th-21st,10 am-4 pm weekdays, 10am-1pm Saturdays at Liskeard & District Museum
Gans Kerensa means ‘with love’ in Cornish. From 30th November to 21st December, Liskeard & District Museum have a children’s trail, winter crafts and festive events plus a family friendly festive photo backdrop for you to come and take selfies in front of. Free entry
Victorian Christmas Market
There will be Dickensian, steampunk, alternative Christmas market from Cornish Renaissance Faire on Sunday 1st December at Liskeard Public Hall, from 10am – 3pm.
Victorian Steampunk Clothing Optional!
A festive event filled with holiday cheer. Get ready to shop for unique gifts, enjoy delicious treats, and soak in the merry atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for handmade crafts or tasty treats, this market has something for everyone. Bring your family and friends along for a jolly good time!

Christmas at the Library
December 2nd to Christmas Eve at Liskeard Library
- FREE Decoration Making – Saturdays 10am – 4pm and Thursdays 3.30pm – 5pm. crafting sessions
- FREE Christmas Story Saturday – Saturdays 11am – 11.45am. We will be reading a story followed by a craft session based on the story. A fabulous morning of reading and crafts for your little ones.
- Christmas Card Making – during opening hours. A chance to make Christmas cards for your loved ones and get creative with us. Available throughout the Christmas season, judging will take place on the 21st of December.
Evening Christmas Markets
December 5th, 12th and 19th, 4pm – 8pm at The Workshed, Liskeard Cattle Market
The Old Cattle Market Producers Market are having 3 evening Markets at Liskeard Cattle Market on Thursday 5th, Thursday 12th and Thursday 19th. Each market is taking place between 4pm and 8pm.
Pop along and purchase local gifts, support local sellers and makers. You might even get to see Santa if you’re lucky!
Hillfort Christmas Fayre
December 6th, 4pm-6pm at Hillfort Primary School, West Street
There will be stalls from local crafters and businesses, a raffle, cakes and bakes, refreshments and more!
All money raised will benefit all of the Children at the School.
FREE Parking
Saturday December 7th, Saturday December 14th and Monday December 23rd
There will be FREE PARKING in all Cornwall Council car parks on Saturday 7th, Saturday 14th and Monday 23rd December 2024.
Supporting Small Business Saturday. The perfect reason to come and support your local small businesses here in town and get your Christmas shopping sorted.
For Liskeard this means – Upper Sungirt, Cattle Market, Lower Sungirt, Rapsons and Westbourne.
Treasure’s Christmas Grotto
December 7th – December 21st at Liskeard Community Treasure Chest
Visit Treasure Claus in her Christmas Cave. A Christmas gift, hot chocolate and treats for all. £5 voucher for adults too. Community Treasure Chest, open from 7th-21st December. £3 per child, booking is required.

Festive Artisan Market
Saturday 7th December 10am – 4pm at Liskeard Library
Explore our fantastic artists and take a look at their amazing handmade crafts. Join us throughout the day for coffee & cake downstairs followed by some Christmas shopping upstairs!!
Paper Snowflake Workshop
Saturday 7th December and Saturday 14th December 10.30am – 12.30pm at Liskeard & District Museum
As part of the Liskeard and District Museum’s Christmas activities, our volunteer Shannon will be running a FREE paper snowflake workshop where young visitors can learn how to create snowflakes by cutting shapes into a variety of coloured paper. The creations can then be taken home, or, if you wish, included in the museum’s decorations.
Drop in between 10.30am – 12.30pm on Saturday 7th December and Saturday 14th December.
Meet Santa
December 7th and 14th, 11am-4pm at Fat Frog Café, Market Street
Liskeard Trader’s Association are running a Santa’s Grotto in the Fat Frog Café. £5 per child, which includes a present, milkshake and raffle ticket!
Our Lady & St Neot Church Christmas Fayre
December 7th, 11am – 3pm at Liskeard Catholic Church, West Street
Our Lady and St Neot RC Church will be holding a Christmas Fayre on Saturday 7th December from 11am until 3pm.
With a wide range of fun activities for all the family, including Santa’s grotto! Plenty of food on offer including mince pies and mulled wine for sale!
There will also be a number of stalls, including a bric-a-brac sale and a chocolate tombola as well as a book sale and much more!
And finally a Christmas raffle draw at £1 a ticket with the top prize being a whopping £250 which would make anyone’s Christmas!
Come along and help support the vital work the church does all year round to support the local community, we look forward to welcoming you!
Santas on a Bike Charity Ride
December 7th approx 2pm on The Parade
Coming to Liskeard on Saturday 7th December, the popular annual charity ride featuring hundreds of Santas on a motorbikes, raising funds for Children’s Hospice South West.
This hospice does such a wonderful job for the children and families of the South West when they are in their greatest need. All funded by donations.
Please come and cheer on this ride and spread the word. Every penny donated will go to this fantastic cause!

East Cornwall Bach Choir Christmas Concert
December 7th – 7.30pm at St Martin’s Church
East Cornwall Bach Choir will perform their Christmas Concert: Carols from Around the World, featuring a varied programme of Christmas Music with an opportunity for audience participation in some traditional favourites. Music will be drawn from a range of countries, including Mexico, Korea, The Philippines, Moravia and Poland, as well as more local roots, including the beautiful Cornish ‘Sans Day Carol’.
Community Christingle

St Martin’s Church Christingle takes place on Sunday 8th December, 4-6pm.

Nativity Musical – BC 2 AD
December 13th and 14th, 7 pm at St Martin’s Church
St Martin’s Church have their Nativity musical ‘BC 2 AD’ at 7pm on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th December in the church.
There will be a licensed bar and lots of original catchy songs and your favourite carols!
Admission is £1 donation towards the Foodbank.
Christmas Carol Concert
December 15th, 7pm at St Martin’s Church
Levow Kesson will be performing a Carol Concert at St Martins Church on Sunday 15th December from 7pm.
Levow Kesson is a well-known mixed voice choir based in St Neot, whose members are drawn from across South East Cornwall. Established in 2015, each choir member who lends their voice to the mix is committed to creating a unique and memorable musical experience. Under the musical directorship of Heather Taylor.
Christmas at Café Fleur
December 16th, 11am – 12pm at Café Fleur, Plymouth Road,
Come and join in with Liskeard Ladies Choir, enjoy mince pies, coffee, tea etc.

Christmas Sing-a-Long
December 17th, 11am-1pm at Liskeard Library
We are excited to invite you all to A Christmas Sing-a-Long at Liskeard Library. Join us on Tuesday 17th December at 11am in the Library Courtyard (indoors if wet) and enjoy a festive sing a long.
Drinks will also be available at the cafe during the event. We look forward to seeing you all.
Liskeard Lions Xmas Bingo
December 17th, 7pm at Liskeard Public Hall, West Street
Join Liskeard Lions for Christmas bingo at the Public Hall on Tuesday 17th December. Doors open 7pm, eyes down at 8pm.
There will be lots of prizes including generous hampers for full house and additional prizes for lines as well as a raffle.
All ages are welcome but the cash call is for adults only. There is limited parking but good disabled access.

FREE Christmas Movie – Nativity!

Christmas Movie Monday!
A poll was held to see which festive film St Martin’s Church would show and the winning film is Nativity! which will be shown in the church on Monday 23rd December at 6pm.
Entry is FREE, including free popcorn! A tuck shop will be available, so do bring some extra pennies for drinks and snacks!

Christmas Services at Our Lady & St Neot Catholic Church
Christmas Eve
- This Christmas Eve Our Lady and St Neot Church will be open from 11am – 5pm for praying and to light candles.
- There will be Carols by Candlelight from 6pm. Tea, coffee and mince pies afterwards. Everyone very welcome!
Christmas Day
- Christmas Day Mass at 10am
